New identity honors the Hoops family legacy while uniting pediatric care across Marshall Health Network

As Marshall Health Network – Hoops Family Children’s Hospital celebrates 15 years of caring for children and families across the region, Marshall Health Network has unveiled a refreshed visual identity that honors the hospital’s legacy and more clearly connects pediatric care across the academic health system.
The colorful, child-focused logo features two playful figures reaching toward a heart, paired with “Children’s” in bright, hand-drawn lettering. The Marshall Health Network name appears above, while the Hoops Family Children’s Hospital name anchors the design, preserving the hospital’s distinct identity and legacy.
“As we modernize our children’s hospital brand, we are proud to carry the Hoops family legacy forward and build upon it—uniting pediatric care across Marshall Health Network while keeping children and families at the heart of everything we do,” said Beth L. Hammers, chief engagement officer for Marshall Health Network.
Opened in 2011 within Cabell Huntington Hospital, Hoops Family Children’s Hospital is a 72-bed pediatric specialty hospital providing comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents. Its services include a 36-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a 25-bed general pediatrics unit, a 10-bed pediatric intensive care unit and a neonatal therapeutic unit for infants affected by prenatal substance exposure.
In partnership with the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, the children’s hospital also connects families with a growing network of pediatric specialists. Services include pediatric cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, pulmonology, surgery and other specialties.
During its first 15 years, the children’s hospital has expanded access to pediatric specialty and critical care, developed programs to meet the complex needs of children and families, and helped educate the next generation of pediatric physicians through Marshall’s pediatric residency and fellowship programs.
“The refreshed identity is about reaffirming who we are and what every child and family should experience when they walk through our doors – a mission that is deeply personal to me,” said Jacob T. Kilgore, M.D., M.P.H., medical director of Hoops Family Children’s Hospital and chief quality officer for Marshall Health Network. “Every day, we pursue excellence – not for recognition, rankings or awards, but because that’s what children deserve. Every family who entrusts us with their child deserves our very best—every patient, every encounter, every time.”
The new logo was officially launched with team members on July 30 and will begin appearing across hospital signage, clinics, websites, patient communications, apparel and community materials Aug. 1. The transition will occur in phases and will not affect the hospital’s services, locations or care teams.
